lyrics

It’s my body
It’s my life
It’s my choice
On my own time
Wasn’t for you
To ever decide
Cause here we are now
In the great backslide

These are my hands
Strong and fine
They’ve carried me
Through all these time
Whether in prayer
Or holding the line
They can’t be tied to
The great backslide

Don’t presume
To have an answer
In my world
You’re not a dancer
You see things as black and white
Mostly white, mostly white, so sure you’re right

These are my thoughts
These are my dreams
Through all these time
They’ve carried me
Whether in solitude
Or side by side
We can’t succumb to
The great backslide

Chorus

It’s my body
It’s my right
It’s my choice
On my own time
Wasn’t for you
To ever decide
Cause here we are now
In the great backslide
Whether in solitude
Or side by side
We can’t succumb to
The great backslide
